I would like to ask for prayers for a sweet family that I met while living @ Minot AFB. Jason Powell, Sgt First Class, Retired passed away September 6, 2012 from complications during a medical procedure.
I met Jennifer Powell and her two babies (Jeorgia and JC) the spring of 2005. Jennifer's husband was an Army recruiter. Jennifer and I became fast friends and our oldest daughters (who were 4 years old at the time) had such a blast playing together. When my Mom passed away in August of 2005, while Dale was deployed, Jennifer was one of the many wonderful ladies that helped me keep my wits about me. They were such amazing friends to us during that time. As always in military life the Powell's received orders to move to Minnesota right before Dale came home from deployment. Instead of staying in TLF, they stayed with us. Jason was a wonderful father and husband and truly loved Jesus. I do not know the details about how he passed away, I have just kept up with their family thru Facebook and this is how I learned of his passing. Jason retired from the Air Force on August 31st, 2012. Their family had just moved to North Carolina to start their "normal" life. My heart is breaking for Jennifer and their whole family. I am unable to do anything but lift them up in prayer. I just pray that the Lord will give them strength during the days that lie ahead. Thanks for praying with me.

11, Oh 11...wait, is that pre-teen status? Already? ....Sigh....
So, my sweet Logan turned 11 on June the 8th. She is growing up so fast! We are so proud of how amazing and lovely she is! She is so kind hearted and keeps me laughing. She is just like her daddy, always trying to fix things, and so like me because she is a "people pleaser". It's wonderful to watch her grow up and see her personality develop. We are so blessed to have her in our family. I thank Jesus for her everyday.
Here are a few pics from her Birthday weekend.

Oh and along with getting older, comes the beginning of Middle School (did you hear the big "sigh"), and she decided to follow in her parents (yes, I played the oboe, and Dale played the trombone) footsteps by becoming a "band geek". Makes a Mama's heart happy! I hope she enjoys it as much as we did! I had to do some fancy talking to avoid having a percussionist in the family, but thankfully I was able to avoid that dreaded fate. One major plus to Middle School is that she is now part of the youth group at church! I have so many fond memories of my youth group from church and am so excited for her to start having some of these experiences!
Well, thanks for reading our updates! A huge milestone is coming up with the start of the school year....we will be at the halfway mark of this deployment! Woo Hoo!!!! Y'all have a wonderful day and God Bless!!!

On our own...again
Ok, so I know it's been over a year since I posted, but I've decided to try and blog more regularly. We'll see how that goes.
We are almost 5 months into a 12 month deployment, so the girls and I are on our o
wn once again. This is the first time we've had a year long deployment and so far so good. I am thankful that where Dale is has Skype, so we are able to chat with him semi-regularly. That is soooo helpful.
We are doing quite a bit of swimming and being beach bums. I figure we might be PCSing (moving) next summer after Dale gets back, and you never know if it'll be to a "sun-shiney" place, so we are taking advantage of the beautiful weather. We have had some visitors since he's been gone and that's been very nice. He's been gone since the end of February and we're hoping he'll get back the beginning of March 2013. He should be home sometime in October for 2 weeks of R & R (rest and relaxation), so we are looking very much forward to that. :)
I'm going to post a few pictures of our "deployment time" so far, and I will try and keep you updated more often from now on.
This the morning that Daddy was leaving. It was super early. :(
And also here are the girls on Easter Sunday @ the Club after church and brunch.
Y'all have a great evening. I have some pictures from Logan's Birthday I'll try and post tomorrow. :)

Catching up in 2011
OK, so I've been "a little" lacking in the blogging department this year. I suppose I've just been lazy.....so I thought I'd post some pics so you can see what we've been up to......
Happy New Year!!! Making Chicken 'N Dumplins and later we had a Harry Potter marathon!!
Mamaw came to visit a few weeks later and she showed us how to make flowers for cakes! Mamaw is so talented!
On February 7th Dale and I celebrated 13 years of wedded bliss! I can't wait to see what the next 13 years hold!
Logan won 2nd Runner-up in the Little Miss Sweetheart pageant that was held at the local high school. Her category was Little Miss(3-5 grades) and there were 11 girls entered.
Maci wanted to watch from the sidelines. She didn't want to wear a fancy dress....HOWEVER, she did want a crown! 8)
And finally...Valentines flowers from Daddy!
I hope you all have had a great start to 2011 like we have! We are so blessed! I'll try to update more often! Have a great weekend!
